AWEESOMEEEE camcorder !!!!!
KODAK’S ZI8 FOR THE LOW PRICE, EVERYBODY MAKING YOUTUBE VIDEOS SHOULD GET THIS
Count the announcement of Kodak’s Zi8 ultra-compact hi-def camcorder (above) as the latest salvo in the burgeoning Flip-killer market. But while Flip just keeps making subtle design refinements in its 720p models, Kodak and everyone else—mainly Sony, Sanyo, RCA, and Creative—are plotting victory by way of increased resolution and strategic feature add-ons. In the case of the Zi8, that means 1080p video, image stabilization, improved low-light shooting, YouTube and Facebook uploading, and…a microphone ja ck. That said, the virtue of this style of camcorder is the relative lack of buttons, not the lack of features, and at this price, we’re not complaining. One solid aftermarket option: the new Eye-Fi Geo memory card, which automatically geotags everything you shoot for eternity, for free—provided, that is, you’re using an Apple to upload your videos (or photos). Kodak Zi8, ships in September, $179, 1000words.kodak.com; Eye-Fi Geo SD card, $59.99, eye.fi
